29 July - Go! Rider Go!

圖片
29 July Today is our last day in Canada. We spent a day in Regina to watch the football match. Before we left home, we made up and dressed up in green. Anna was so nice that she prepared a lot of things for us. It was my first experience of painting the nails. At the end, we were surprised to win the Cutest Prize! People were excited during the football match and I really enjoyed it. The audience kept yelling, 'Go! Rider Go!'.  The players tried their best to fight for victory and our team, Roughdriver, finally made it! They were brilliant! At night, I was grateful to see Mr and Mrs Rapko again. We give a big hug and thank-you card to them. Although it was the end of the trip, the journey of life never ends. By Mandy

Today was our last school day. In the lesson, we continued writing short stories. We shared our own ideas and I appreciated all of our amazing stories. After lesson, we practiced American football. It was different from the football in Hong Kong. We separated into 4 groups and the coaches were so patient to teach us the skills. At the end, we had a mini-competition and we were excited. In the evening, we had a graduation dinner. All host families brought their food to share with us. Our host family made salad. It was yummy that it all went out. I hope I can keep in touch with the people I met here, including friends and teachers. By Carrie

Today our lesson was finished earlier because this was swimming day! I got excited. After a 45-minute drive, we arrived at Pike Lake, which was one of the national lakes in Saskatchewan. Instead of swimming in the lake, we swam in the swimming pool nearby. There was a large slide. I was excited that the slide was tall and fast. Although I could not swim well, I played the slide several times. In the evening, Mandy and Carrie invited us to have supper with their host family. After then, we visited a book shop. It was large and beautiful. By Kaory

Today was hot. After the class, we went to Centre Mall to shopping and watched a movie. I bought lots of souvenirs for my parents, relatives and friends. Then, we could choose one of the three movies, and I finally chose an animation movie called Captain Underpants. Some kids found it funny and laughed out throughout the movie. The movie had no subtitles so sometimes I could not understand what the characters said. But I could guess from the story line. After then, our host mom drove us home. Before going back home, we sent postcards and bought food for suppers. By Alice

Today I woke up late and forgot to prepare my lunchbox, so we had lunch at canteen. We ordered Chinese dishes and wondered the taste of the good. The food was not as delicious as we expected, but still it was a good experience to see the food culture here. After lesson, we had glow bowling. We have never tried glow bowling before in Hong Kong. It was really fun. The bowling ball was relatively smaller than the ones in Hong Kong. And they were painted as planets! With strong pop music and sparkling light effects, we enjoyed playing the game. By Carrie

After then, we separated into 5 teams and competed. Finally, the team of Ho Ying and Carrie won. They could choose the prizes first, from ball,Canada national flag and stationary. In the afternoon, our host family took us to Weir. It was amazing place with beautiful view. Later, we went to Mid-town Plaza for supper. By Adrian

It was a cloudy day. We woke up at 7am and went to school. In the class, teachers asked us to finish story-writing. After lunch, we learnt more about Dream Catcher. It is believed that Dream Catcher could catch nightmares and take away negative feelings. My classmates found it difficult to make Dream Catcher. As I learnt before in Hong Kong, I made it in a short time. Then, we visited Western Development Museum, which showed the old times of Saskatoon. There were different scenes and we took lots of photos. At night, host family took us to shopping mall and bought us some food. We made cookies after back home. It was yummy! By Jenna Grace
